Ingles version:

The screenwriter, producer and director of the film 'El Pais del miedo', Francisco Espada, has assured that in his first feature film he has tried to place the Viewer "in this uncomfortable place of coward". The first film premieres on 21 April, at the Teatro Cervantes de Málaga 2015 Festival.

In an interview with Reuters, Espada has confessed that at first "I didn't direct the film" since bought the rights from the homonymous novel by Isaac Rosa in 2008 "to hire a screenwriter and a director".

Seven years in search of the necessary funding, finally he has been completed with the support of the Ministry of culture, 20% of the Government of Extremadura, Canal Sur and 'Skylight' producer's own funds, as it has indicated Espada have passed since then.

'El Pais del miedo' tells the story of Carlos (played by José Luis García-Pérez), a calm parent that he has a calm and orderly life until Marta (Recio Marina), a 13-year-old girl, starts to harass and extort in the Institute to his only son, Paul (Moisés Ortega).

When Carlos and his wife, Sara (Cristina Plazas) learn the situation that their child is living in a situation, both try to help, but Carlos is who also ends up being victim of harassment of Marta as a result of their fears and their inability to deal with certain situations.

Asked what led him to choose this story for his first feature film, Francisco Espada has pointed out that he is "very identified" with the character of Carlos, felt even though it is not considered "a coward". "I was struck how I had identified with it and that it was a social issue with structure of thriller", underlined.

"I try to place the viewer in the place of Carlos, in this uncomfortable place of the cowardly because almost nobody wants to identify with the more mean-spirited that we consider each. I also want to propose that he chose siding through the different options that arise in film", he has explained.

FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF THE ACTOR

Francisco Espada has not only directed 'El Pais del miedo'. He has also written the screenplay for what first did a "treatment of the novel without dialogues" then "discuss it". "All that work has been from the point of view of the actor", has assured the director that in the 80's it was formed in Madrid as an actor.

In addition, you have added that the approach to situations has been conducted as if they were "microcosms" ensuring that all had "approach, knot and outcome". "The film is as if it was a big transition that has no transitions," he pointed out.

About the protagonist of 'El Pais del miedo', the director of the film highlighted the "luxury" and "pleasure" that has been working with José Luis García-Pérez, who "as well as having a great talent and he is hardworking". Marina Recio, who plays Marta, has emphasized that she has had to compose the character because she is "sensitive, intelligent sweet" and not the "kaffir" which is in the film.

At this point, added that one of his concerns was "credible" that a girl like Martha could intimidate a character like Carlos measuring 1.80. "It was a challenge to tell that the problem is not a problem of weakness", has riveted.

Also in an interview with Reuters, José Luis García-Pérez has insisted that his character, Carlos, "at the bottom, he is a coward" and "what he does is to cover its short comings" when he faced with the things. "we all have fears, to an outlet when it is needed, but how to face these fears is that the character's mark," he defended.

As explained by the protagonist, Carlos "faces fears from the lie". "Lying to others, lying to your partner, lie to society, lie yourself takes you to decisions wrong, in the film, in life, in society", he said.

About how you have prepared the character, he has confessed "very manic with emotional characters connector", i.e., "with the way, evolve characters". "In my way of working, so that it is me that fairly know well the thing, I need to know how the character is walking", he said.

In this sense, Jose Luis said "it goes to the director as the same" so were "long" working was like the evolution of the character. "According to those fears, starts to not be able to overcome them... How it is decomposing", he highlighted.

"At the beginning (Carlos) is very quiet because he has full assurance. As soon as there are things that are changing the reality in which he lives begins to not knowing how to handle it. We did that with time, with great dedication. I take as a kind of giant box, a very large oil where I'm tagging graphs and things about the character development. "Is the guide which I based to do so because if not ultimately it wheels today you die tomorrow you marry", explained.

"ANYONE CAN SPEND"

In his view, "a little bit what it sought to" Francisco Espada is the viewer be identified with Carlos. "In the novel by Isaac Rosa, which is already in the film that it can happen to anyone." None of us know how we will react to certain things," he warned.

Actor and director worked together in 'Un novia para Yasmina', in which Espada participated as producer and film that was nominated at the Goya Awards. "I was involved in doing something with Francis from the beginning. These are the people who change things. Someone pawned, in Badajoz, in film-making and creating film. That is very value. Our relationship is intense, creative and I love him and I admire a lot. It looks like a brave", he assured.

For this actor from Seville, living in Bangkok, where the film was shot, "is being at home" for me.Extremadura is being at home. "The team is professional and family treatment and makes everything comfortable. For me, it is wonderful. I aimed right now to the next do (Francisco Espada) when you make it! ", has exclaimed."

Jose Luis Garcia Perez releasing his another film in 2015 directed by Imanol Uribe, 'Lejos del mar', with Eduard Fernández and Elena Anaya. He is also in shooting a production on Hernán cortes for TVE and tour with the 'Don Juan Tenorio' of Blanca Portillo. "Happy, happy, very happy," said.

On the other hand, he has been convinced that cultural VAT, which he calls "ideological", is going to be changed "because if they leave others will change and if they go out they will change because they will seek votes".

Finally, he has defended the Spanish film industry has achieved "an encounter" of the commercial cinema with the public. "The next step is the reunion of our independent cinema with the public. This film is a step forward in that", he concluded.
