Superb staging fleeing from romanticism to present a contemporary and functional scenery where the movement and the choreography of actors with a musical backdrop and the voice of Eva Martin give way to action.
Blanca Portillo unmasks the Tenorio and she uses the parallel scene where the young Doña Inés, dam of love by ignorance, reads the verses that Don Juan writes without feeling, counting syllables to find the gravel and the rhyme. A Tenorio, that the wrong concept of Manhood and a Dona Ines who is not seduced, but deceived, give a twist to José Zorrilla text, to the end, presented to reflect without falling asleep in the formal beauty that the stage directors had given so far.
